Financial assistance

We offer several non-work scholarships to support dancers and musicians at camp. Note that we do offer financial assistance to part-time campers, but preference is given to full-time campers.

Carolyn Pulis memorial scholarship

The Carolyn Pulis Memorial Scholarship offers financial assistance to fiddlers or dancers based on need, with preference given to first-time campers. Recipients may be active in the music and dance community or may be newly interested in Scandinavian music or dance. Recipients may also apply for additional funds for travel.

Matt Fichtenbaum scholarship

The Matt Fichtenbaum Scholarship offers financial assistance to fiddlers or nyckelharpa players, with preference given to those who are interested in broadening their musicianship through the study of harmony. Recipients may also apply for additional funds for travel. Matt was a beloved and influential member of our community for nearly 50 years.

Pascal Peterson scholarship

The Pascal Peterson Scholarship offers financial assistance to first-time campers who dance, with preference given to those who have danced with folk dance groups associated with Scandinavian-American communities. Campers under age 35, and students of any age, may request additional funds for travel. Pascal was an ardent supporter of NFF.

Young Dancer scholarship

The Young Dancer Scholarship offers financial assistance to young adult dancers (18 to 35 years of age) who are currently active or becoming interested in Scandinavian dance. Recipients may also apply for additional funds for travel.
